City will use $50,000 state grant to improve Cerrito Vista playground, Castro Park could be next
The city has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the state. The funds come from the statewide Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air and Coastal Protection Bond Act of 2000. They will be used for phase two of the effort to improve the playground at Cerrito Vista Park.
City staff also plan to apply for the second cycle of grant funds, according to a July 6 report from Recreation Director Monica Kortz. Those funds would be used to purchase new play structures for Castro Park. The existing play structures don't meet current safety standards.
