Crestmont entry winner in Solano Stroll parade
The Solano Stroll's parade theme of "A Whole New Game" was made a reality on
Sunday, Sept. 9, by Crestmont School Parent Coop of Richmond. As first place
winners, they created a full chess set complete with a truck decorated as a
chess board filled with pawns, (children with head pieces), and giant puppets
dressed as the white queen and black king. This is the third year in a row
that they have taken first prize. Runners up were the Canyon Community
Stilting Group, East Bay Peace Action, Berkeley Ballet Theater and the
Albany-Berkeley Chinese School. Prizes are Solano Avenue gift certificates
which are good in over 30 businesses.
