Andrea Buffa, journalist and former executive director of Media Alliance, reviews the nature of news coverage by a corporate and concentrated news media today, how it differs from the past, what its implications are for the concept of an educated electorate, and what can and should be done about it.
Media Alliance is a nonprofit organization working to promote fairness and accuracy in the media. Based in San Francisco, for the past twenty five years the organization has assisted journalists by encouraging media excellence, ethics, diversity and accountability.
