Earth Day barbecue canceled
A few people braved the rain, but most Earth Day efforts were canceled.
Except for the efforts of a few hardy souls working in rain coats, Earth Day activities April 12 were canceled because of the rain. Food that had been planned for a barbecue, normally held mostly outdoors at the Community Center, was returned if possible. That which could not be returned was donated to the Souper Center in Richmond.
Those who wish to reschedule site clean ups on their own can call the city at 215-4333 to pick up supplies and arrange for filled yard bags to be picked up.
