LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Consider Herb Cole for interim superintendent
Dear Editor:
Several community members have mentioned to me that they would like to see Herb Cole approached re: the interim superintendent position. Dr. Cole was the superintendent prior to GJ. He was here from 92-99. It was a period of about 7 years. Under his tenure MRAD was passed and the first bond measure passed to build deJean. I found him to be accessible and interested in community input. Also, he was very good with prioritizing funds in hard times, and he was not a big builder of bureaucracy, but rather concentrated on programs at the site level. Also, he knows the district and is not part of GJ's admin so there would be a healthy modicum of distance from her administration.
