Book fundraiser nets more than $2,000
Barnes and Noble Valentine Fundraiser a Big Success!
Portola Middle School's Valentine Book Fair at El Cerrito Barnes and Noble raised over $2,000 for the PTSA on February 9. Parents, students, teachers, and community members turned out to buy books, listen to students read, and watch Bubbles the Clown (Terry Pace with the El Cerrito Fire Department) paint faces.
"The El Cerrito Barnes and Noble staff were so supportive of our school," said Jewel Manila, president of the Portola PTSA. Money raised will help pay for school assemblies, field trips, and teacher supplies and support.
