Interactive rain garden model on display
The City of El Cerrito has a model Rain Garden on display inside City Hall. With the press of a button, visitors can simulate rainfall and see how plants and soil in garden naturally filter pollution from the rainwater before it enters the San Francisco Bay.
The model is on loan from the City of Walnut Creek until March 4, 2010.
The week of February 22, 2010 El Cerrito City Hall will be open:
Monday, Wed, Fri 8:00am to 4:00pm
Tuesday, Thursday 8:00am to 6:00pm
The week of March 1, 2010 El Cerrito City Hall will be open:
Monday, Wed 8:00am to 4:00pm

This spring, in partnership with the San Francisco Estuary Partnership, using federal stimulus money, the City of El Cerrito is installing two rain gardens along San Pablo Avenue: at Eureka and Madison.
