"Why Are We in Afghanistan?" topic of May 25 Democratic Club meeting
The May meeting of the El Cerrito Democratic Club will feature Michael Eisenscher speaking on "Why Are We in Afghanistan?" Eisenscher, co-founder and National Coordinator of U.S. Labor Against the War (USLAW), is a veteran of more than four decades in the labor movement as an organizer, negotiator, educator and writer. All members and interested guests are urged to attend this presentation on the emerging key issue in U. S. foreign policy.
The meeting will be convened at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, in Fellowship Hall, El Cerrito United Methodist Church, 6830 Stockton Avenue (at Richmond Avenue), El Cerrito, CA 94530. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and light refreshments will be available, as well as pizza for $4 per person.
