History tour of El Cerrito High Sept. 25
The El Cerrito Historical Society and the El Cerrito High School Archive Project present:
A Historical Tour of El Cerrito High School
This event is free to the public. Refreshments and memorabilia will be sold. No need to RSVP.
El Cerrito High, which opened a year ago, has quickly become a landmark, and its state-of-the-art theater the major performing arts space.
The school is also a major repository of history, thanks to the El Cerrito High School Archive Project, which has displayed valuable momentoes from the old school throughout the building.
Even more important than mementoes, though, are memories!
Attend this tour to greet old friends and teachers and learn things about El Cerrito High you may never have known – tales of sports, of student plays and dances, of fun in the cafeteria. And learn about the students who built a working cyclotron.
Tours will be self-guided and docent-led – it’s up to you!
Meet at the sundial in front of the school, 540 Ashbury Avenue.
Noon-2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010
