Considered to be one of the most important novels of the nineteenth century, Crime and Punishment, is the story of a murder committed on principle by a killer who wishes to set himself outside and above society. The novel is marked by Dostoevsky's own harrowing experience in penal servitude, and yet contains moments of wild humor.
Book group meetings are held on the fourth Monday of every month in the library at 7:00 p.m. Each meeting starts with a poem selected and read by a member with a brief discussion following the reading. New members are always welcome. Run dates: 2010-09-04 - 2010-09-27 |
