ELECTION: O’Malley announces new endorsements

Judge Dan O’Malley (ret.) announced four new endorsements in support of his campaign to become District Attorney of Contra Costa County. Senator Loni Hancock (9th District), Senator Mark DeSaulnier (7th District), Assemblymember Tom Torlakson (11th District) and Assemblymember Nancy Skinner (14th District) have all pledged to support Judge Dan O’Malley (ret.).

“I am so pleased and honored to receive endorsements from Senators Hancock and DeSaulnier, and Assemblymembers Torlakson and Skinner. They believe in my vision for change in this county and I wish to thank them for their support,” O’Malley said in a statement.

“I will challenge the status quo, crack down on gang violence, elder and domestic abuse and bring honesty, integrity and fiscal responsibility to the D.A.’s office. Having their backing is a marvelous reinforcement of my vision to ensure that the Contra Costa D.A.’s office is one of the best prosecutorial offices in the nation.”

Judge Dan O’Malley (ret.) has served Contra Costa County as a Deputy District Attorney as well as a Superior Court Judge. He stepped down as a Judge in order to run for the office of District Attorney, as Judges are not allowed to campaign for other offices.

Judge Dan O’Malley (ret.) has also secured the endorsement of California Senator Ellen Corbett (10th District) , Treasurer Bill Lockyer, former Senator and Assemblyman Richard Rainey as well as Supervisor Federal Glover, Supervisor Mary Piepho, and Dr. Joseph Ovick, Contra Costa Superintendent of Schools.
